Children at this age are energetic, curious, and imaginative to put into practical all that they have learnt in their previous year. They move with great confidence as they can read, write and converse in English, they familiarize themselves with shapes, patterns, shades in colours and learn about weather. They start applying their imagination in whatever they do. Children are introduced to numeracy, literacy at this level, storytelling, singing and dancing, sessions like rhymes, national songs, story enacting, puppet shows, books, puzzle games and other developmentally appropriate learning materials are given to children in the classroom so that it helps them in improving their skills. Teachers simultaneously work with children as a group one to one so that learning takes place easily.
