At this age children are co-operative, happy and are eager to learn. They are happy in making friends and are ready to mingle in group activities. Children learn to do their day to day activities like tying their shoe laces and put on their clothes, combing their hair, playing with the toys and rearranging them, going to the washroom without any help etc. Children are encouraged to express themselves verbally and are taught to trace and recognize letters as a precursor to listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Children learn about numbers through hands-on techniques using materials, such as the golden beads, flash cards, charts, black board, blocks etc that represent the hierarchy of the number system. Children learn about animals, flowers, Days of the week, music, different kinds of transport, science, arts and crafts, dance etc. Free play activities like colouring, finger painting, sponge painting are done by the children.
